Note: The search for a head coach continues for the Winnipeg Jets. Keep it locked to illegalcurve.com for the latest news.

Note II: Now that the Stanley Cup has been handed out to the Colorado Avalanche, the attention (aside from that devoted to the Jets head coaching search) switches to the 2022 NHL Draft which takes place in Montreal on Thursday July 7th and Friday July 8th. A reminder that the Jets have two 1st round picks (14th overall and 30th overall), one 2nd round pick, one 3rd round pick, one 6th round pick and one 7th round pick.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: NHL Scout’s Analysis: Could the Winnipeg Jets seek change this off-season? Pretty good read on where the Jets are and where they could be heading.

NY Post: Rangers should steer clear of Pierre-Luc Dubois trade that costs them Filip Chytil. Brooksy chimes in from New York on the news that got tongues wagging on Wednesday.

Sportsnet: Jets gaining clarity on Dubois’ future will determine off-season approach. Wieber gets in on the Dubois chatter and adds some thoughts on who could be part of a package if there was a deal with the Rangers. He also cautions that this could simply be chatter and that recent history would still suggest that Dubois starts the 2022-23 season with the Jets.

The Jeff Marek Show: Elliotte Friedman discussing Pierre-Luc Dubois as well as Winnipeg Jets coaching timeline. Basically suggests that things seem to be on pause until they figure out the coaching situation in Winnipeg.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Winnipeg Jets mailbag: Forward trade targets? Sorting out the defence? (Paywall). There are so many questions swirling around the Jets these days folks are looking for answers. Murat does his best to provide some of those answers in his latest mailbag.

RDS: Could the NY Rangers be interested in acquiring Pierre-Luc Dubois from the Winnipeg Jets? This news came out yesterday courtesy of RDS reporter Francois Gagnon. Would be funny if the Jets and Rangers end up doing another deal (which would be the fifth such time they have made a player swap).

Jets video:

The Ray & Dregs Podcast: Is Pierre-Luc Dubois making ‘Adam-Fox-like’ moves to play for Habs? TSN insider Darren Dreger and NHLer turned analyst Ray Ferraro chat about what is happening with the Jets centre.

Jets audio:

CJOB 680: Fly By Podcast. Paul Edmonds and Jamie Thomas continue their look at the 2022 NHL Draft. Their guest is Mark Hillier, the Jets Director of Amateur Scouting who discusses draft meetings, a legendary travel story and the upcoming draft.

Moose news:

Official Manitoba site: Henri Nikkanen ready for AHL challenge. He is a player that caught my attention after he was drafted by Winnipeg in the 4th round of the 2019 Draft. He had been speculated to be a 1st rounder but injuries during his draft year caused his stock to fall. But you could see that he was driven by that slight and I suspected at the time that it could make him a diamond in the rough for Winnipeg.
