Note: Basically the latest news is that you can expect #TrotzWatch to possibly last until around July 1st as per Pierre LeBrun. We will bring you any and all updates on the Jets coaching vacancy. Update: Or not anymore according to Darren Dreger who dropped a Friday afternoon news bomb regarding Trotz.

Note II: Elliotte Friedman dropped a bomb during game 4 and yesterday during the podcast chat with Jeff Marek he gave a more fulsome explanation about his Pierre-Luc Dubois report from Wednesday and added some clarity on Blake Wheeler. You can read a transcription of that chat with the audio as well here.

Note III: On Thursday the Jets announced their six game pre-season schedule. While exhibition games aren’t usually very noteworthy one of the games will be as ahead of puck drop on October 1st they will be revealing the Dale Hawerchuk statue.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Winnipeg Jets’ uncertainty about core’s future won’t be solved by new coach. (Paywall). Murat delves into the topics of the day examining the Dubois, Wheeler and to a lesser degree Scheifele situations.

Sportsnet: With the Trotz decision looming, the Jets are facing big questions this off-season. Ken took a break from his Stanley Cup coverage to check back in on what is doing with the local NHL club and there has been quite a bit doing here in Manitoba.

Winnipeg Free Press: Dubois’ murky future ups urgency for Jets. (Paywall). Is it posturing or is it a genuine desire for a change of pace? Maybe he simply wants to wait until the salary cap increases. Lots of questions.

Winnipeg Sun: Plenty on Winnipeg Jets GM Cheveldayoff’s plate as off-season looms.
