Note: Today was supposed to be a Jets home game. Instead they are in Del Boca Vista Phase III to start their road trip a day early. We shall have to wait and see if they use today as a day off or if they practice ahead of the game against the Panthers on Friday.
Note II: The Moose held an informative practice on Monday but like their parent club they also had their game postponed due to the expected inclement weather with the AHL announcing that Friday’s game against the IceHogs here in Winnipeg would be moved from 2 PM to that same time on Sunday. Which means that the game on Saturday at 2 PM will be the first game of this series.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Jets dodge blizzard, run straight into Eastern gauntlet. After playing a pair of bottom of the barrel teams in Ottawa (27th) and Montreal (31st) they now get to face Florida (2nd), Tampa (9th), New York (5th) and Carolina (3rd) with a less than stellar record against the east and basically needing to win every single game. Good times.
The Athletic Winnipeg: What we’ve learned about path to playing time for Jets’ young players. (Paywall). This is going to be quite a summer for the Jets brain trust as they try to figure out a plan. You’ve got a glut of D prospects who are about to add playoff experience to their resumes in addition to already having strong regular seasons under their belt as a collective group. The only thing is that all the left side prospects are waiver exempt so in theory your arm isn’t as twisted as it could have been. Murat also touches on Nathan Smith signing in Arizona and then some quick hit thoughts.
Jets video:
Sportsnet: Proud alum, Stastny gives shoutout to U of Denver for winning NCAA hockey championship. Kyle Bukauskas caught up with Jets forward Paul Stastny after their win over the Habs, to discuss how proud he is of University of Denver, for winning the NCAA hockey championship title, also touches on scoring his 20th goal of the season, and more.
Moose news:
Illegal Curve: Practice Report. It was a busy day in Mooseland with the Jets AHL affiliate hitting the ice on Tuesday for a busy day of practice with quite a few old faces who felt like new faces as they return from injury as well as the impending arrival of two completely new faces.
