Note: The Jets practiced on Thursday following a tough loss on Wednesday and if they want to salvage their season (however remote that chance is at around 1%) they have to start tonight against Western Conference leading Colorado. They also flipped prospects with Dylan Samberg coming up to the NHL and Ville Heinola heading to the AHL. Morning skate gets underway at 10:30 AM CT so stay tuned for the pre-game report to get the full 411 ahead of the game against the Avalanche. Puck drop is at 7 PM CDT and following the final buzzer we want you to join the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show.

Note II: The Moose are in Milwaukee where they will have a re-match against the Admirals after picking up a 3-2 win in their first game of this road trip. If the playoffs started today it would be a 1st round meeting between these two teams who have already met 10 times this season (Manitoba won six of ten). This is the 11th of 12 meetings with puck drop at 7 pm.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets looking for hope in a hopeless place. The season has hit the Dumb and Dumber “So you’re saying there’s a chance” portion.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets cling to slim hope. (Paywall). When most of the models have the team in the under five percent (5%) category, playoffs are looking pretty, pretty, pretty unrealistic.

Global News: Jets failing to live up to lofty expectations. Last summer with an augmented D group, a solid forward core and a Vezina winning goalie it seemed like the world was their oyster. Not so much approaching 10 months later as a team that was seen by minimum as a playoff team is likely to miss the 2022 post-season.

Jets video:

TSN: There was ‘a lot of disappointment’ after Jets’ third loss in a rowThe Jets’ playoff hopes took a big hit after falling to the Red Wings on Wednesday night for their third loss in a row. After the game, not one word was said in the dressing room. On Thursday, the team spoke out about their recent struggles.

Sportsnet: ‘Frustration’ is best word to describe the Jets mood after another crucial lossJets forward Paul Stastny discusses the team’s mood after another tough loss and their chance at making the playoffs slipping away, says he tries not to look at the big picture, or get too high or too low.
