Note: The Jets did a very Jets thing last night in a game they needed to get a point or points from and that was not play a full 60 minutes which resulted in the visiting Bruins leaving Winnipeg with two points courtesy of their 4-2 win. Today the team was scheduled to practice in Winnipeg but have cancelled it so they will simply head to Chicago for a one-game road trip against the Hawks on Sunday.
Note II: The Moose have three of four points so far courtesy of a win and OTL in Abbotsford during the week and they practiced in Iowa on Friday as they got ready for a pair of games against the Wild starting tonight. Puck drop is at 6 PM.
Note III: Be sure to join us on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show today at 9:00 am CST on our YouTube channel and social media platforms. Guests will be Scott Billeck (Winnipeg Sun) and Frank Seravali (Daily Faceoff).

Sportsnet: Odds stacked against Jets to make playoff push after stumbling against Bruins. They already faced long odds and last night’s result won’t help them as Wieber writes.
Winnipeg Sun: Missed chances, late penalty handcuff Jets in loss to Bruins. You know the night was gonna be odd when Nikolaj Ehlers penalty shot fell so flat. Scott lets you know what he saw from inside Canada Life.
Winnipeg Sun: ‘Stanamale’: Jets defenceman takes confidence out of game-winning performance. What we saw on Tuesday against Vegas is the kind of Dman he needs to be on a regular basis.

Winnipeg Free Press: Trade deadline could see Chevy buy and sell. (Paywall). Usually the idea of buying is to try to get your team over a hump? At this point why wouldn’t you give that opportunity to players within the organization. There are plenty of guys on the Moose who could potentially seize an opportunity if one was available.
Global News: Jets battle back, but fall 4-2 to Bruins in third period dogfight. With about six minutes to go in the 3rd the game really had the feeling of a contest where both teams would be satisfied playing it safe so as to at least get one point.
Jets video:
TSN: Cheveldayoff discusses Jets’ approach to trade deadline. As another deadline approaches, Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff is facing a lot of possibilities when it comes to his roster. Cheveldayoff joins TSN’s Sara Orlesky to discuss how he approaching Monday and how the cap plays a role in the team’s decision making.
Sportsnet: Special teams play crucial role in Jets’ close loss to Bruins. Sean Reynolds and Ken Wiebe break down the Winnipeg Jets’ 4-2 loss to the Boston Bruins, saying poor special teams was one of the reasons they fell short, and the team could be both a buyer and seller at the upcoming NHL trade deadline.
