Note: The Jets will conclude four straight in Winnipeg when they welcome Edmonton to town for an afternoon matinee. No morning skate but be sure to check out the pre-game report to get the full 411 ahead of the game. Puck drop is at 3 PM and following the final buzzer we want you to join the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show.

Note II: The Moose have one final day of practice scheduled today as they prepare to kick start their nine game homestand tomorrow afternoon against the Admirals. They got a big boost yesterday when the Jets reassigned David Gustafsson to the AHL club.

Note III: It was a busy day in Jets land on Friday as they claimed Winnipegger Adam Brooks off waivers where he will become the second Jets player to wear 77 (can you guess the most recent?).

Note IV: Looks like Jets 2021 1st rounder Chaz Lucius who was supposed to help Minnesota as they took on Penn State didn’t play in the game despite being listed in the lineup and was ruled out of playing tonight. Jets 2018 3rd rounder Nathan Smith who was with Team USA at the Olympics is staying for closing ceremonies and is expected back on Monday when he will rejoin his Minnesota State teammates.

Note V: Be sure to join us on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show today at 9:00 am CST on our YouTube channel and social media platforms.  Guests will be Murat Ates of The Athletic Winnipeg and Derek Van Diest of Postmedia.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets hunting for three game streak as Oilers come to town. With both Dallas and L.A. winning as well as Nashville and Minnesota losing last night points are at a premium and with both Winnipeg and Edmonton needing to add them to their respective standings bank it should make for a very interesting contest.

Edmonton Sun: Josh Morrissey remembers Dave Manson fondly as junior defence coach. No surprise that number 44 creates connections that stand the test of time.

Winnipeg Free Press: Morrissey solid as they come. (Paywall). Mike wrote/gushes about the Jets 2013 first rounder who is as good a person off the ice as he is on it.

Winnipeg Free Press: Dubois getting under opponents’ skin. (Paywall). Being a pain in the ass to play against has become a bit of a calling card of the Jets centre and it has led to some time in the sin bin but also him drawing the opposition into taking penalties.

Global News: Jets push themselves back into playoff equation. They have certainly done that but they face a number of tough tests coming up including the Oilers, Flames, Stars and Avalanche.

Jets video:

Sportsnet: Dubois on whether he intends to agitate opponents going into competition. Jets centre Pierre-Luc Dubois discusses his recent agitation of opponents, saying he doesn’t “wake up and choose to annoy” the opposition and simply goes out and plays hockey.

Global News: Weekly segment with John Shannon on the Winnipeg Jets.  680 CJOB hockey analyst John Shannon looks back at the Winnipeg Jets’ shaky first half. What has been the biggest surprise and who needs to step up for the Jets to get back into the Western playoff mix?
