Note: The Jets and Wild were expected to play a feisty contest which didn’t happen but after giving up the opening goal of the game Winnipeg started to roll. Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler both had big nights and the home side picked up a critical two points with a 6-3 win. The Jets are back in action today as they welcome the Kraken to the city for the first time ever. No morning skate but be sure to check out the pre-game report to get the full 411 ahead of the game. Puck drop is at 7 PM and following the final buzzer we want you to join the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show.

Note II: The Moose are off today.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: Red-hot Jets centre Mark Scheifele showing no signs of slowing down. The Jets go as he goes and with the top two lines starting to produce it gives this team a shot.

Winnipeg Sun: Ol’ Blue Eyes Scheifele gets it done for Jets. In order for the Jets to have a shot at the playoffs they need the driver of the bus to be number 55 and that’s just what he did last night against the Wild. Also helped that the captain has really picked it up as well with nine points in his last three games.

Winnipeg Free Press: Red-hot Scheifele scores three in dominant win over Wild. (Paywall).  He said himself he needed to be better and seven goals in his last five games would be just what the doctor ordered for both the Jets centre as well as the entire team.

Winnipeg Free Press: Fans back in stands the first step in getting the Jets headed in right direction. (Paywall). Mike with a bit of a state of the franchise type article.

Global News: Scheifele’s hat trick propels Jets to 6-3 win over Wild in front of more than 12,000 fans. While not a full house it was evident that there was a bit more energy from the crowd.

Minneapolis Star Tribune: Scheifele’s hat trick sends Jets to second win in eight days over Wild. (Paywall). Read about the game from a beat writer who covers the Jets rival.

The Athletic Minnesota: Wild show up ‘a little loose’ in grudge match against the Jets. (Paywall). Another insightful recap from a writer who covers Minnesota.

Sportsnet: 32 Thoughts. Missed this yesterday but thought 24 is about Connor Hellebuyck and how he performs (well) in the second game of a back to back. Seems relevant with conventional wisdom suggesting Eric Comrie starts tonight but perhaps this stat suggests otherwise.
