Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note: The Jets practiced on Thursday in Winnipeg before they left for Dallas. They have a big task ahead of them tonight with a game against a division rival in the Stars who currently sit five points up on the Jets (although Winnipeg has a game in hand). Morning skate gets underway at 11:30 AM CST so check back for our pre-game report to get the full 411 ahead of the game. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM and following the final buzzer we want you to join the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show.

Note II: The Moose got Declan Chisholm reassigned back to them on Thursday which will be a boost as they take on the Canucks tonight in Abbotsford for the very first time. Puck drop is at 9 PM.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Dubois, Pionk set for return as Jets face Stars in critical Central Division test. Gonna be a good pair of additions for a game the Jets absolutely need to win.

Winnipeg Free Press: Practice time at a premium. (Paywall). In the immortal words of Allen Iverson “We talking about practice” and the Jets will have to figure things out without much time between games during the final stretch.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets have to pick a lane. (Paywall). Mike wrote about the proverbial path in the forest and the local NHL club is gonna have to figure out which one to take.

Global News: Jets looking to change the narrative. No question the only way they are gonna be able to do that is with a win. And for the position they are currently in they will need to string together a series of wins in order to put themselves back into the conversation.

NBC Sports: Wild’s Foligno suspended two games for kneeing Jets’ Lowry. Ironic that he is eligible to return against the Jets next week.
