General NHL news:

Globe and Mail:  Talks on new NHL collective agreement to begin Friday.  And here come the pretzels.  The first volley in the war of words as the players wrap up meetings in Chi-town to learn what the strategy will be this summer.

Edmonton Journal:  Oilers to make Krueger head coach.  The Winnipeg-born coach is seeing his first action as a head coach in the NHL.

The Province:  Pavel Bure first Canuck elected to Hockey Hall of Fame.  Hard to believe he is the first player to be inducted from the Canucks.  The Russian Rocket was a joy to watch skate.  He was pure speed and skill on the ice.

SI.com: Coyotes captain Shane Doan will test free agency.  He has only known one team for his entire career and despite making the Western Conference Finals this past season, will dip his toe in the free agency waters to evaluate his worth.
