Winnipeg Free Press: Pavelec gets five-year deal, must now bump up game. The big concern is that now that the player has the big contract he will rest on his laurels and become complacent. Fans shouldn’t expect that from the Jets young goalie as he continues his quest to become an elite level talent in the NHL.
Winnipeg Sun: Turning attention to new deal with Kane. Now that they’ve gotten the Pavelec deal done, time for Chevy and company to get the Jets sniper signed.
Winnipeg Sun: Pavelec big piece of puzzle. There was a lot of concern going into this week as to what the Jets were going to do about locking up their goalies for next season. It looks like the starter position has been filled for the next 5 seasons.
Illegal Curve: Comments from Pavelec & Jets GM Cheveldayoff on contract. Pavelec said all the right things from his home in the Czech Republic and will have an opportunity next season to prove his worth.
