Note: It was a good news/bad news sort of night as the Jets eight-game points streak came to an end on Saturday night after they were shut out by the Islanders. The good news was Eric Comrie, making his fourth start of the season, played another solid effort in the loss. Additionally more bad news is the health status of Mark Scheifele and Paul Stastny, both of whom left the game in the 3rd period. Those updates will have to wait till Monday as the Jets are off today.

Note II: The Moose got back in the win column as they defeated the Wolves 5-1 last night in Chicago in the second game of this six-game road trip. They got contributions across the board including Kristian Vesalainen ripping this shot to the back of the net which was his first AHL goal of the season in his season debut, Johnny Kovacevic looking more like a forward than defenceman and even veteran Dman Jimmy Oligny popped in a goal. Manitoba concludes their three-in-three this afternoon in Rockford when they take on the Icehogs at 4 PM.

Note III: The Illegal Curve Locker Room is here and while orders were supposed to be submitted last night by 11:59 PM in order to have your gear ready by the end of November I am told you may be able to get your order in still.  Check out and purchase all your IC branded shirts, hats, hoodies and more which are all made locally here in Winnipeg.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: Back at his natural position and flourishing, Copp showing Jets his full value. The move to the middle has really worked out for the Michigan Man.

Winnipeg Sun: Islanders shut down Jets. That New York team has the Barry Trotzall over it. They are stifling and give up so little and when you miss your chances, the likelihood of another materializing isn’t high.

Winnipeg Sun: There’s really no surprise in ascendance to stardom for Jets’ CoppWhile his work ethic has always been sky high he has backed up the words with his actions and that has led to his new nickname Andrew “Cha Ching” Copp as the UFA will be able to cash in at the end of the season.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets shut out by Islanders. (Paywall). Not a super deflating game as the Jets but simply got burned by a few mistakes, got bailed out by their netminder a few times and overall played decently against a fresher Islanders team.

CBC: Jets shut out for 1st time this season against New York Islanders. If you’re gonna get shutout may as well be by the goalie who already had two shutouts this season.

Jets video:

Sportsnet: Comrie strong for Jets despite loss to Islanders. Sean Reynolds and Ken Wiebe discuss the Winnipeg Jets latest game against the New York Islanders.

Jets audio:

Illegal Curve:  Podcast. Recap of the Jets/Hawks game. Islanders/Jets preview. Can the Jets afford Dubois/Copp for next season? Play of Eric Comrie this season. Guests included: Jason Bell (with special appearance by Marty Byrde) of the Winnipeg Free Press and Craig Button of TSN.
