Note: The Jets picked up a dominating 5-1 win over a not very good Hawks team last night and will continue their seven game homestand tonight against the Islanders which is the first back-to-back of the season. With Winnipeg having played last night no morning skate but they are holding a media availability at 10:30 AM so we should find out if Connor Hellebuyck is feeling any better and will draw back in for his first game since October 30th or if Eric Comrie will play his fourth game of the season or might 2016 6th rounder Mikhail Berdin gets his first NHL game? Check back for the pre-game report and stay with us throughout the day. Puck drop is at 6 PM.
Note II It isn’t just a Jets game day as the Moose are also in business as they play their second game of this six-game road trip having lost 2-1 in OT last night. The lone goal was via a trifecta of Jets prospects. Puck drop is at 7 PM when they take on the Wolves in Chicago.
Note III: Couple of Jets prospects had noteworthy contributions last night in NCAA action with Jets 2018 6th rounder Jared Moe going up against his former club and putting up 44 saves in the OT win while 2018 3rd rounder Nathan Smith scored this goal in his team’s loss.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets obliterate terrible Blackhawks. Important to remember when you are evaluating your game that Chicago is just not a good team.
Winnipeg Free Press: Copp’s 3 points power Jets past Blackhawks 5-1. (Paywall). Ezzy was calling him Andrew “cha ching” Copp and that sure seems appropriate given it would appear that number 9 is gonna cash in at the end of next season.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets backup goalie proving he can get the job done in NHL. (Paywall). Far be it from me to point out that a certain analyst on the IC Hockey Show has been saying this for some time…..He needed the opportunity, the confidence of his team and this season he has both of those things.
Global News: Winnipeg score early and often to cruise past Chicago. You get a goal, you get a goal, you get a goal. In the end five different players contributed goals for the Jets in the win over the Hawks.
Sportsnet: Comrie providing Jets with a calming presence during Hellebuyck’s absence. While those on the outside have made a lot of noise the team, from management to the players, continue to espouse a belief in the more than capable backup netminder.
Jets video:
Sportsnet: Jets are thriving without contributions from Wheeler, Scheifele. Sean Reynolds and Ken Wiebe discuss Andrew Copp betting on himself, the Jets thriving without contributions from Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele, and the play of Eric Comrie.
