Sportsnet: With no distractions in camp, Jets focused on returning to contender status. No contract holdouts, no major controversies. All this team has to do is figure out a few position spots and get ready to kick start their season.

Thursday marked the first day on ice for the Winnipeg Jets of this season’s training camp, and Paul Maurice took his players and split them into two main groups, with practices happening on separate sheets of ice before they came together for a scrimmage at the end.
