Jets news:

Sportsnet: Stastny’s lifelong love for hockey still burns ahead of 1,000th NHL game The veteran forward is set to play in his milestone game tonight and Ken’s latest piece talks to people that have known Stastny throughout his career.

The Athletic Winnipeg: The best untold stories of 1000-game NHL star Paul Stastny from every stage of his career. (Paywall). Nice collab by the Murat and Jeremy on this article looking at the storied career of Paul Stastny.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets’ swoon continues against CanucksThe answer can’t simply be add a dash of Nikolaj Ehlers and all problems for this team will be fixed. While the Dynamic Dane would certainly be a positive addition this team has deeper issues right now.

Winnipeg Sun: Crazy two years end in award nomination for Jets’ Comrie. Hard to think of a more worthwhile nominee for this Jets club. And hearing his earnest replies to the questions yesterday reaffirmed that sentiment.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets’ struggles continue in 3-1 loss to Canucks. (Paywall). Jason breaks down last night’s contest.

Winnipeg Free Press: Maurice gives Heinola a chance to shine with Morrissey. (Paywall).  What were your thoughts about 14 and 44 after seeing them last night?

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets goalie a worthy Masterton candidate. (Paywall). He’s gotta be one of the most well liked players this organization has ever drafted.  For insight into Comrie read this article by Daniel Fink who spoke to a number of people (including yours truly) about the affable netminder.

The Province: Rathbone, Hoglander provide hype, hope for future. Read about last night’s contest from a writer that covers the Jets opponent.

Jets video:

TSN: Jets are ‘crawling’ into the playoffs. Craig Button says defining the Jets’ as ‘limping’ right now is being generous, he explains why the Jets are on all fours and are crawling into the playoffs right now. He believes their offence is too predictable and they need to limit the chances in front of their goaltenders.

TSN: Same old story for the Jets and their ice cold offence. It was another game with a lot of shots and lots chances but ultimately the Jets could only muster up one goal and it resulted in their ninth loss in 10 games. Sara Orlesky is joined by Ray Ferraro to break things down and why the Jets and running out of runway to get things back on track for the playoffs.

TSN: Are the Jets being exposed for not bolstering blueline at trade deadline? When the Jets failed to bolster their defence at the trade deadline, TSN Hockey analyst Jamie McLennan called it a huge missed opportunity. Did that come back to bite them or is there something else wrong in Winnipeg? That’s Hockey has more.

Sportsnet: Losses continue to take a toll on Jets with playoffs around the cornerSean Reynolds and Ken Wiebe break down yet another loss for the Winnipeg Jets, if there are signs of the offence waking up, and the play of Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko.

Moose news:

Global News:  Cole Perfetti eyeing Jets’ camp heading into summerFor the folks who are wanting him called up this season the more realistic option (aside from as a black ace during playoffs) will be him finishing off the AHL season with the Moose (ends next Sunday).  He is doing a lot of good things down on the farm and getting opportunities he simply wouldn’t be getting with the NHL club.
