Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Draft options could change for No. 9.  Taking a look at which player the Jets might select with their pick.  What they need is well known but the expectation is the ‘best player available’ when Winnipeg steps up to the podium will be a defenceman.  Or will they go ‘off the board’ like they did last season?

Stanley Cup news:

Star-Ledger:  Devils realize Stanley Cup Finals are far from over.  The good news is that in the last decade of the Stanley Cup finals team that have lost game 1 (02′ Wings, 04′ Bolts, 09′ Pens, 11′ B’s) have shown they can come back and still win the cup.

Star-Ledger:  After the Stanley Cup Finals, Zach Parise will be in great demand.  Taking a look at some of the teams that will be seeking out the Minneapolis, Minnesota native after the season concludes.

L.A. Times:  Kings continue their road show.  Kings fans hope that unlike the North Stars of 91′ their road success results in a Stanley Cup victory.

L.A Times:  For the Kings, 1993 doesn’t really matter right now.  Considering that most of these guys are barely old enough to remember this series this is chalked up to Kings folk lore.

General NHL news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Unshakable Shanahan perfect man for the job.  His is a job that will elicit complaints no matter what he does.  Everyone is an expert and if he suspends a player for too long, he is out of touch or if he doesn’t suspend someone or goes lightly, he is too soft.

Globe and Mail:  Tambellini says only a significant offer will make him trade no. 1 pick.  The Oilers have need of some D but the consensus best selection is the Sarnia Sting winger Nail Yakupov.
