Note: The Jets took Sunday off and will hit the ice today at 11 AM to practice as they get set for a big three-game series against the Leafs which starts tomorrow. Stay tuned for our Practice Report.

Note II: The Moose returned to Winnipeg on Saturday night and took Sunday to rest and recover following their eight-game road trip out east. They will now settle in for 17 straight games at home starting tonight when they face the Stockton Heat for the first time.  They will be without defenceman Leon Gawanke who is currently in concussion protocol after a brutal hit in their last game.  Puck drop at the IcePlex gets going at 6 PM.

Note III:  Be sure to tune in for the newest show to hit Winnipeg as our good friend Andrew “Hustler” Paterson is starting Winnipeg Sports Talk today.  It will be a daily (Monday to Friday I believe) show starting at 1 PM which you can watch here.

Jets news:

Global News:  Paul Stastny shining in second stint with Winnipeg JetsTalk about fitting like a glove. The veteran centre turned winger has made a seamless transition to his new/old team and it is pretty clear the impact he is having not just in games but educating younger players on this team.

Toronto Star: The Leafs and Jets cool but stay put in our North Division Power RankingsIt is setting itself up to be quite the week for hockey in Toronto.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets will lose solid player in Kraken draft. (Paywall).  Any way you slice or dice it the Jets are gonna lose someone good.  There is a general consensus of the majority of players who the Jets will likely protect.  The crazy part to me is how the last player who needs to be protected has changed throughout the course of this season.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets not interested in negatives, but still need to address their own. Another thoughtful column from Scott on the state of play with the Jets.

Sportsnet: Mailbag. Ken starts with some talk about last night’s Jets blowout loss and then get into answering questions which ranged from: What trading for Elkholm would mean for Wpg, would they consider selling high on Paul Stastny, Jansen Harkins not playing and more.
