Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  It was the type of game that felt like if the Jets could make it to overtime and steal a point it would be significant. Well the Jets didn’t just make it to the extra period against the Montreal Canadiens, but instead they used the three forward option to win themselves the game courtesy of a Paul Stastny OT winner. They’ll take it and bank the points as they improved to 13-6-1 on the season.  The team is off today but will be back in action on Monday when they welcome the Vancouver Canucks to town.

Note II:  After winning four straight the Moose have lost their last two games including an afternoon contest on Saturday against Laval to split that four game series. They now have a record of 4-4-0 on the season.  They are off today but will continue their road trip in Toronto for a pair of games starting with a contest on Monday.

Illegal Curve:  Interview with Eric Comrie.  By Eric Comrie’s count he will have spent 28 out of 34 days in quarantine by the time he gets out and we had a chance to catch up with him on yesterday’s Illegal Curve Hockey Show. We spoke to him about all the movement in his career, getting a win with the Devils, his comfort level in the Jets organization, staying ready mentally, his golfing ability and much more.

TSN: Scheifele taking his game to the next level. While a lot of attention has been placed on Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews in the North division, Mark Scheifele has been sneaking under the radar with an impressive 28 point season so far.
