Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets chose to take a day of rest on Wednesday which means there may be further progress with their long list of skating wounded.  While the team may have been off the NHL made some relevant news when they reveled how much the salary cap would be for next season.  We took a look at where the Jets will be next summer.  Today they are scheduled to practice at 11 AM CST at Bell MTS Place.  Be sure to check back for the Practice Report for all the latest news and audio as Winnipeg gets ready to face Vegas on Friday.

Note II:  The Moose were scheduled to have another day of practice today out at the IcePlex but will instead host a team activity away from the rink. They have another day of practice scheduled for Friday as they continue to get ready to face the Wild this weekend in Winnipeg to conclude their four-game homestand.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets’ history suggests they won’t be big spenders in summer.  There will certainly be a lot of options for the Jets GM this summer. Although he may be best served being smart and retaining a piece like Dylan DeMelo and doing some small additions to his lineup.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets GM about to shed austerity manacles, do some talent shopping.  (Paywall).  Dollar, dollar bills ya’ll.  That’s what Kevin Cheveldayoff will have to spend this summer.

NHL.com: Jets battling adversity to stay in hunt for playoff spot.  With some forwards soon to return this could be as close to a complete team as the Jets have fielded all season long.

The Athletic Winnipeg: How Kyle Connor has become an elite goal scorer with the Jets. (Paywall).  Feels like the kid has been an elite goal scorer all his life although he will probably hit 40+ this season and could get to 50 next so he is clearly improving in that realm each year he plays.
