Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets held a media availability on Sunday and will practice today at 11 am.  Be sure to check back for our Practice Report as they get ready to take on the Predators on Tuesday.

Note II:  During Saturday Headlines hockey insider Elliotte Friedman provided a bit of clarity on the Dustin Byfuglien situation. Update:  Frank Seravalli of TSN is reporting that the Jets and Byfuglien’s representation are working towards a mutual termination of the contract.

Note III:  The Moose are back in Winnipeg and will begin a week of practice before they kick off the first of six straight games at home.  They’ve got some injured players so we will have to see what happens there and they could get reinforcements from the Jets if some of their injured players are ready to return.  Today they’ll practice at the IcePlex at 11 AM.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Roslovic adds consistency to his impressive play. (Paywall).  He has certainly been the focus of attention of late.

Winnipeg Free Press: Power play lacking juice. (Paywall).  It certainly could have been a difference maker in the Boston game.

Winnipeg Sun:  Roslovic enduring same ups and downs many young players do.  It shouldn’t really come as a surprise that the transition to the NHL and a big role on the team will come with some setbacks.  But then again we do live in an instant gratification society.

The Athletic Winnipeg: On Jack Roslovic, Andrew Copp, and how Winnipeg’s secondary scoring affects the trade deadline and two playoff races. (Paywall).  It is certainly shaping up to be an interesting February.
