Note:  The Jets have hit a bit of a slump having won just twice in the last eight games including a 4-1 loss yesterday afternoon to the red-hot Blues.  Today they are scheduled to practice in Colorado at 1:30 PM CT as they get set to take on the Avs tomorrow night to close out 2019.  Check out the Practice Report for the latest news and audio.

Note II:  Today in Denver Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff had a 45 minute chat with scribes Scott Billeck (Winnipeg Sun), Mike McIntyre (Winnipeg Free Press) and Ken Wiebe (The Athletic Winnipeg).   Couple of interesting notes including status of David Gustafsson following the World Junior Tournament and Dustin Byfuglien.

Note III:  The Moose got plenty of good news on Sunday as they started their day with the news that Eric Comrie had cleared waivers and had been assigned to the Moose.  Additionally Sami Niku was healthy and would be back in action for the first time since November 27th.  They took out division rival Rockford later in the afternoon by a final score of 3-2.  They will practice today at 11 AM as they prepare to close out 2019 tomorrow afternoon in a re-match with the IceHogs at 4 pm here in Winnipeg.

Jets news:

The Athletic Winnipeg:  Contract efficiency and the Jets: with the trade deadline approaching, where is Winnipeg getting value?  (Paywall).  Who is providing the most bang for their bucks?  That’s what Murat answers with his latest column.

Winnipeg Free Press:  PK far from OK… in fact it stinks.  (Paywall).  It’s as if this chat between Jerry and Elaine on Seinfeld was about the Jets PK.  Jerry: Well, I think the whole thing stinks. Elaine: It smells. Smells bad. Smells really bad.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets sing the Blues again, with loss in St. Louis.  (Paywall).  Mike was also in the Show Me State yesterday afternoon and filed this recap of the events.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets fall to Central-leading Blues for second time in three daysScott gives you his thoughts on the game from his spot inside Enterprise Center.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch:  Eight is great as Blues extend win streak. (Survey Required).  Always interesting to read about the game from the perspective of a writer that covers the Jets opposition.

The Athletic Winnipeg:  Can the Jets learn their lessons after being swept by Blues?  (Paywall).  It isn’t just Winnipeg that has been losing to the Blues as is evidenced by the fact that they have won eight straight but Ken looks into some common themes from the two losses.

The Athletic Winnipeg:  Winnipeg’s playoff spot is at risk, but its goaltending is not to blame.  (Paywall).  As always an insightful read from Murat.

Sportsnet:  Three bold predictions for the Winnipeg Jets in 2020.  His predictions include: 1) Connor Hellebuyck will win the Vezina Trophy. 2) Last day, for all the marbles. 3) Chevy trades his first … again.

Jets video:

TSN:  Despite third straight loss, Jets show ‘a lot of positives’ against Blues Winnipeg’s depth came through again with Nick Shore scoring his first of the season as a member of the Jets, but the stars were held scoreless in a 4-1 loss to the defending champion Blues. Brian Munz and Kevin Sawyer examine the Jets’ third straight loss and look ahead to their next game, a matchup with the Avalanche.
