Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Time to stow smug attitude, Winnipeg. If we eclipse the Colorado Avalanche sellout streak (487 games, 1995-2006) and still have the MTS Centre crowds rocking in 10 years time, then at that point we can (not suggesting we should) but we can turn up our noses a bit at other teams that are struggling. It it also worth noting, that the recession in the States is still hampering the market, so choosing to spend disposable income on hockey might not be a Floridians(in this case) first option.
Winnipeg Free Press: Learning on the fly. Top 10 items of interest that the Free Press writers found out about the Jets in their historic return season.
Winnipeg Free Press: Pavelec deked out by Jets. Something appears to have been lost in translation. My guess is playing 68 NHL games is preventing the young Czech netminder from participating in the tournament not the Jets.
Globe and Mail: Jets’ season ticket holder gets inside track from coach Noel. A number of the things allegedly said sound like they could have been voiced by the Jets bench boss but at same time it seems somewhat doubtful that Claude Noel would decide to spill his guts randomly to a fan. While the Jets coach can be candid at times and quite tongue in cheek, we will never know what was really said at that local restaurant. Looks like we have a ‘fan-gate’ brewing.
TSN: Many Jets enjoyed banner seasons this year. Dennis gives you a rundown of the team.
Affiliate news – St. John’s IceCaps:
The Telegram: Home for a rest. Good commitment by team management to getting this team into the post season as rested as possible.
The Telegram: Clinch second seed in the East. The IceCaps are getting healthy just at the right time and saw three players (Brock Trotter, Marco Rosa and Ray Sawada) return to action last night as St. John’s beat Worchester 3-1 and secured 2nd place in the East.
