Note: Despite injuries and recalls and outside noise the Jets have rattled off three wins in their last four games to improve to 8-7-0 this season which included last night’s comeback win in OT against the Golden Knights in Vegas. The Jets are returning to Winnipeg today from Vegas and won’t have any media availability. They will likely be back on the ice on Monday to practice ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Devils in Winnipeg.
Note II: On the “Headlines” segment on Hockey Night in Canada, Elliotte Friedman and Chris Johnston provided updates regarding the Dustin Byfuglien situation.
Note III: If you missed it on Saturday afternoon Jets 2015 2nd rounder Jansen Harkins put up five points (all assists) in a 5-3 win over the Griffins as the Moose ended their losing streak. They will look to turn it into a winning streak when they take on the Griffins this afternoon with a 2 pm puck drop. Yesterday also saw the AHL debut of Ville Heinola, the return of Sami Niku from injury and JC Lipon play in his 400th game for this organization (IceCaps/Moose).
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets rally to defeat Golden Knights 4-3 in OT. (Paywall). Mike provides his thoughts/insight/analysis of last night’s Jets win.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets come up overtime winners in Vegas. It isn’t usually very good logic in gambling to bet against the house but last night that’s just what that Jets team from Winnipeg did after a poor effort in San Jose the night before and they came out victorious. Paul recaps the action.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets Snapshots. Paul’s list includes: 1) Roslovic wants respect of a veteran. 2) Ehlers declines job on first power-play unit. 3) Lowry says he won’t change.
Las Vegas Journal Review: Golden Knights blow another lead, lose to Jets in OT, 4-3. Read about the game from the perspective of a writer who covers the Jets opposition.
The Athletic Winnipeg: After long journey to NHL, hard-working CJ Suess relishes debut. (Paywall). Ken captures the experience for the Minnesota product. I actually liked the way the camera caught him peering around during the anthems.
Illegal Curve: Jansen Harkins five assists on five Moose goals powers team to 5-3 win over Griffins. Recap of yesterday afternoon’s contest which had quite a bit going on.
