Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets relish role of spoilers. The Jets showed some character after being down 3-0 but mounting a furious comeback to win in OT. I’m sure fans appreciated that the team didn’t give up. Saturday’s game should be quite the event.
Winnipeg Free Press: Shining on world stage. The Jets may not be playing much in April but a number of Jets players might be playing over in Europe to wind down the month.
Winnipeg Sun: Snapshots. Finding a way to win. Pavelec wants to play. Versteeg loves playing against Jets. Machacek is making a strong case for himself. Kane’s 30th leads to some cha-ching. Doing it on D.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets showing character while playing out string. The Jets have taken 5 of 6 points on the road during this short road trip. Not bad considering their previous road winning percentage.
Winnipeg Sun: Wheeler holds head high. As he should given the fact that he went from enigma to top forward this season. He is still young and will likely continue to develop under coach Noel.
Globe and Mail: Black clouds gather on horizon. Many Jets fans have yet to take off their rose coloured glasses. Coach Noel has already stated that his analysis for next season has already begun. As can be seen overwhelmingly in our IC poll, many fans are just happy that the NHL is back in the city.
Winnipeg Free Press: Itching to move in. Another example of the impact the return of the Jets has had on the revitalization of the downtown.
Jets on a Deadline – Jets 5 Panthers 4 in OT:
Winnipeg Free Press: Ladd lifts Jets to OT win.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets come back for OT win.
Globe and Mail: Panthers lose to Jets as Southeast still up for grabs.
Miami Herald: Odds still favour Florida, but what a lost oppportunity.
Sun Sentinel: Panthers blow 3-0 lead, lose to Jets in overtime, must wait to clinch.
TSN: Jets refuse to quit against Panthers.
NHL: Panthers blow lead, lose to Jets in OT.

Affiliate news – St. John’s IceCaps:
Note: The Caps signed Julian Melchiori (Oshawa Generals of OHL) to an amateur tryout contract. They have also signed Kyle Rogers (Toledo Walleye of ECHL) to a professional tryout contract.
The Telegram: IceCaps sink Pirates 5-2. Dries and O’Neil registered their first professional goals. The goalie the Caps faced was former IceCaps, on loan to the Pirates, Peter Mannino.
General NHL:
Buffalo News: Sabres display wow factor. A loss to the Leafs and the team expected to win the Stanley Cup would have ended up watching it from their homes instead. However a late comeback and OT win tied the Sabres with the Caps with 2 games remaining.
Arizona Republic: 1st Division title within reach. Going all the way back to their Winnipeg days this team has never finished first in the division. The Pacific seems wide open and the Yotes remain tied with the Kings with 93 points and both have 2 games remaining, although L.A. holds the tie breaker.
Tampa Bay Tribune: Bolts see many reasons for optimism. This team could be a goalie away from contending in a relatively weak southeat division next year. Unfortunately for the Bolts though goalies don’t grow on trees so they are going to have to dig one up.
