Winnipeg Free Press: He just can’t wait. And fans in Winnipeg can’t wait for the season to start either so they can watch Ladd and company kick of the Jets 2.0 for the first time. In response to a question about the fanbase here in Winnipeg, Ladd had this to say:
That’s what guys are excited about — the excitement surrounding the team and how we are going to be treated as players by the fans and the organization. Personally, as a player, going into a season knowing you’re going to have that pressure and that support in your own building, it’s a good thing.”
Toronto Sun: Jets logo militaristic? Absurd. I agree with Broadbeck’s point, but I really hope that this is the end of the complaining about the new Jets logo.

Edmonton Journal: Edmonton commons. After seeing what the MTS Centre was able to do with AHL hockey to the downtown, I can see the value of having NHL hockey in a city’s downtown.
Plainview Old Bethpage Herald: New York Islanders Ice Girls hold tryouts. We here at IC are fans of Ice Girls.
More after the jump including what if the North Stars hadn’t moved, the Sabres finishing off signing their free agents and a Florida Panthers preview.
Minneapolis Star-Tribune: What if the North Stars had never moved. Just think if that awesome green and yellow jersey was still in the league.
Buffalo News: Sabres sign Gragnani for one year. Buffalo finishes off their last unsigned free agent. Should be an interesting team to watch next season.
