Note:  The Jets battled the Stars last night at Bell MTS Place but it was a fairly unemotional contest (especially with all of the emotion we witnessed on Saturday) which ultimately saw Dallas skate away with a 5-2 victory.  The Jets are off today and will be back on the ice tomorrow for practice as they get set to play the Islanders on Thursday.  It wasn’t all bad news as Kyle Connor (who had 1G 1A in the loss) was named NHL First Star of the Week early Monday morning.

Note II:  The Moose were on the ice on Monday for a practice and they will have a similar type of day today in Texas as they get ready for tomorrow night’s HUGE game against the Stars.

CBC: Stars topple Jets with dominant 2nd period. Judy Owen adds her recap of the game.

Winnipeg Sun: Street parties will return for Jets playoff run Hopefully the Jets street parties will be allowed to keep an organic feel (as best they can) because seeing the crowds drop from what they were early on to what they became in the later rounds wasn’t good for optics.

Winnipeg Sun: Byfuglien Jets X-factor as playoffs approachMore like XL factor…am I right?  Anyone?  Anyone?  Is this thing on?  Anyways, clearly the Jets big man is a type of player you just cannot replicate in the lineup.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Too soon for Jets’ centre Hayes to ponder future.  (Paywall).  Not really surprised that he doesn’t really want to engage in this type of talk.

TSN: Button on looming RFA decision on Connor and Laine: It’s a positive problemKyle Connor is having an outstanding campaign with 32 goals and 61 points up to this point but given his pending restricted free agent status at the end of the season, how difficult does his success make Kevin Cheveldayoff’s job, considering Patrik Laine’s pending RFA status as well? TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button shares his thoughts.
