Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets are in Arizona where they will finish off this three-game road trip against the Coyotes.  Yesterday we learned the rough timeline on Dustin Byfuglien’s recovery from his latest injury and that Laurent Brossoit will get the start in net.  While Wheeler and Kulikov took maintenance days on Saturday they are both expected to play.  It will be a special night in the desert as the Coyotes retire Shane Doan’s jersey.  No AM skate for the Jets today but check out the pre-game report with puck drop getting underway at 8 pm CT.

Note II:  The Moose road woes continue as they dropped their third straight game on this six-game road trip.  They will have the day off today as they look to regroup.  They have a few days before they play the Marlies in Toronto in game four of this trip as game day isn’t until Wednesday.

Winnipeg Sun:  Slump busting the first step for Jets’ sniper.  Laine has shown an ability to score in bunches so Jets fans will have to hope when it rains it pours.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets get back to filling in the gaps.  (Paywall).  Tight D is a good thing as the Jets ensure they display a commitment to what happens in their zone.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Patrik Laine has a heavy shot.  That isn’t exactly a breaking news headline but breaking is just what the Jets sniper did to the glass at the practice rink in Arizona.

Sportsnet:  Market for Mark Stone drying up due to Senators’ high asking price.  I could be wrong but I see Nashville as more likely to give up the big assets more than Winnipeg.  

Sportsnet:  Kevin Hayes could be affordable target for Jets, Predators.  Nice affordable option to add some centre depth.

CBC:  Open workouts give Jets faithful a chance to see players up close and personal.  Fans like the chance to watch the players at the IcePlex.
