Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:   Five keys to Jets vs Avalanche.  Paul’s big matchup is Trouba, Morrissey vs The Big Three. His five keys to the game include: 1) The top guns. 2) The depth. 3) The new combo. 4) Power-play pop. 5) Sending a message.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets have more horsepower under the hoodLots of things going right for the Jets these day but the key is consistency and as Andrew Copp discusses in Paul’s piece the Jets need to show it over the course of a number of games.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Byfuglien’s absence equals more minutes for Jets blue-liners.  (Paywall).  You cannot really replace 33 but with the depth the Jets have on the blueline his minutes can be eaten up by the remaining D men who won’t complain about playing more hockey.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets running out of gas on power play.  (Paywall).  As uber talented as the Jets are and despite all the depth of both power play units NHL teams appear to be adjusting to how Winnipeg configures their power play.  May be time to adjust things although considering they remain second overall in the NHL it also may simply be a dry spell.

NHL website:  Jets seek continued consistency in second half, with playoffs in mindStill plenty to work on right now before this team turns its focus to the playoffs.

The Coloradoan: Avalanche face uncertainty with top line of MacKinnon, Rantanen and Landeskog. Learn more about what the Jets opposition is dealing with ahead of the game this evening.

TSN: We got a taste of the Cup last season and we’re real hungry. Sitting atop the Central at the midway point of the season, the Jets say they are happy with the way their year has unfolded and are preparing for tougher competition down the stretch as the playoffs loom.
