Note:  The Jets and Blues met for the fourth and final time last night as Winnipeg kicked off their four game home stand with a 1-0 loss to St. Louis.   Today they are scheduled to practice out at Bell MTS IcePlex at 12 noon and you can be sure to check the Winnipeg Jets Practice Report to get all caught up.

Note II:  The Moose were also in action last night in Stockton as the California road trip continued with the Jets AHL affiliate taking on the Flames AHL affiliate.  They ended their three-game losing streak with a big 2-1 win thanks to 41 saves from Eric Comrie and goals by Logan Stanley and CJ Suess.  No rest for either of these teams as Manitoba will play the sixth and final game of the road trip in Stockton.  Puck drop is at 9 pm.

Note III:   Tune in for three hours of Winnipeg Jets, Manitoba Moose and NHL hockey talk on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show on TSN 1290 Winnipeg starting at 9 am.  Listen here.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Laine focused on defence first.  (Paywall).  Adding D to his already impressive offensive game will be a huge benefit to the Jets.

CBC:  Jake Allen cools Jets as Colton Parayko propels Blues to victoryIt was clear the Blues came out with the attitude to not allow themselves to get embarrassed again.  Judy breaks it all down.

Jets video:

TSN: ‘Allen was the difference’ for the Blues.  After Patrik Laine put up a five-spot on the Blues the last time the two teams played, he was a focus for the Blues’ defence this time around but as TSN Hockey analyst Dave Poulin explains, it was Jake Allen who was the difference against the Jets.

TSN: Laine looking beyond goals to help Jets. After an electric November, Patrik Laine has been quiet since the start of December, failing to score in the month’s first three games. While goal scoring is what he’s known for, Laine knows that his impact can be felt all over the ice even though he isn’t scoring. Sara Orlesky explains.
