Note:  The Jets were on the ice on Sunday for the final practice before leaving for Vancouver and there is plenty to hear including the coach on the Kristian Vesalainen situation.  Today the focus is on the 19th game of the season as the Jets kick off this four-game road trip with a contest against a Canucks team that has lost four straight games.  Suspicion is, based on practice yesterday, we will see the same lineup as last game (aside from Connor Hellebuyck returning to the net) but be sure to check out the Winnipeg Jets pre-game report to get up-to-date news about the lines, D pairs, starting goalie and more.  Puck drop is at 9 pm CT.

Note II:  The Moose made their final contest of a four-game road trip interesting yesterday in Chicago as they fought back from a 3-0 deficit to make it a 3-2 game which ultimately saw the Wolves put a dagger in the game with an empty netter to make it a 4-2 final.  JC Lipon had 2 goals and newcomer Logan Shaw added two assists while Ken Appleby made 40 saves but it wasn’t enough.  The team returns to Winnipeg 1-2-1-0 on this road trip and 8-8-1 overall this season.  They will have a week of practice as they prepare to face the Iowa Wild next weekend here at Bell MTS Place.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets keen to shut down hot shot Canucks rookie.  (Paywall).  After scoring 10 goals in his first 10 games he went cold for the next five.  Pettersson scored in the last game for Vancouver and the Jets are gonna have to be very aware of the rookie when he’s on the ice tonight.
