Note:  It feels like Groundhog Day within the note section in the last couple of Morning Papers as it is getting a tad repetitive writing “the Jets will practice today” without a game to mention.  Of course that is set to end after today as they will welcome the Avs tomorrow to Bell MTS Place to kick off the four-game home stand.  On Wednesday we saw the same lines and D pairs we’ve seen all week and that is likely to remain the same today but ultimately you should check the Jets Practice Report (around 11 am) to be sure.

Note II:  The Moose have traded in their practice time for a morning skate as they welcome the Grand Rapids Griffins to town to conclude their four-game home stand.  They will play a pair of games against their central division rival with puck drop at Bell MTS Place at 7 pm tonight.  This is the first time these two teams will meet since the Moose knocked the Griffins out of the playoffs in the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs last season.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Maurice sees a new Laine, but he’ll stay on third line, for now.  In addition to the section on Laine being on the third-line, Paul covers the question where is the Jets A-game, Roslovic back in the mix, too much time in between games.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Winnipeg needs speed to defeat Colorado.  (Paywall).  The Jets haven’t played in awhile and they won’t be easing into the shallow end of the pool with tomorrow’s contest.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets players, coach figure Laine got the reindeer off his back in Finland.  (Paywall).  Four goals in two games will help anyone.  It wasn’t just the goals however as 29 seemed to really be skating at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki.

Illegal Curve:  Winnipeg Jets Practice ReportA look at the lines, D pairs as well as audio from Bryan Little, Tyler Myers, Jack Roslovic and coach Maurice.
