Note:  No rest for the wicked as the Jets get set to play their fifth game in a week against a fairly well rested opponent in the Leafs who haven’t played since they defeated the Jets in Winnipeg on Wednesday night.  The Jets are coming off a 2-1 win against the Red Wings last night in Detroit so no morning skate for this squad.

Note II:  The Moose are kicking off a three game road trip starting off today in Milwaukee when the puck drops at 6 pm.  The Admirals are the top team in the Western Conference and will prove to be a worthwhile opponent for a Manitoba squad coming off winning three of four at home.

Note III:  Tune into the Illegal Curve Hockey Show on TSN 1290 Winnipeg for three hours of Winnipeg Jets and NHL hockey talk.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Byfuglien scores winner as Jets start road trip with 2-1 win over Wings.  (Paywall).  Not bad for an 8th round pick who currently is the active leader among defencemen for game winners (36).

Winnipeg Free Press: More blown leads in Jets’ future if things don’t tighten up. (Paywall). Andrew looks into his crystal ball with some thoughts on what will happen if the Jets continue to play loose.

Winnipeg Free Press: They are Winnipeg’s Jets, but key parts were manufactured in Michigan. (Paywall). Four players form an important part of this team’s nucleus.

The Detroit News: Jets still ground Red Wings in 2-1 defeat but step in the right direction. Always insightful to read about the game from the perspective of someone who covers the Jets opposition.

Globe and Mail: Jets and Maple Leafs is the rivalry Canada needs right now. Little East/West Battle Royale.

Jets video:

TSN: Jets survive slow start to escape Detroit with the victory. Looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Toronto, the Jets weren’t at their best against the Red Wings, but were still able to pick up the two points. After a slow start, how did Winnipeg manage to escape with the victory? TSN Hockey analyst Dave Poulin joins SportsCentre to discuss.

TSN: Toronto expects adjustments from Winnipeg. Travis Dermott wasn’t on the ice with the Maple Leafs as he continues to battle illness and Mike Babcock says he will be out a little while longer. Ron Hainsey was back on the ice after missing the final 12 minutes of Wednesday’s win in Winnipeg. Mark Masters has more on what the Leafs are expecting from the Jets.

Sportsnet: Jets heavy schedule should give Maple Leafs an edge. Chris Johnston thinks the Jets may come into Toronto a little weary to play their fourth game in six nights and the Maple Leafs should take advantage of it.
