Note:  The Jets improved to 4-1 in the pre-season courtesy of last night’s 5-4 OT win over the Flames in Calgary.  Sami Niku scored twice as did Nikolaj Ehlers who blasted home the overtime winner.  Hear from Sami Niku, C.J. Suess, Nikolaj Ehlers and coach Maurice here and be sure to check out our @illegalcurve Instagram account as our photog Colby Spence was at the Saddledome last night shooting for us.

Note II:  The Jets are back on the ice today as they prepare for a set of back-to-back games against the Wild (in St. Paul) and Devils (in Winnipeg) on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.  Group 1 had been re-scheduled to hit the ice at 12 pm while group 2 was pushed back thirty minutes to 12:30 pm.

Jets news:

The Athletic Winnipeg: The Tyler Myers at left defence experiment. (Paywall). That is really starting to sound like the name of an alt rock bank. Murat looks at what the math, his eyes and Myers says about the move to his other side.

Winnipeg Free Press: Niku, Ehlers snipe twice in Winnipeg win. (Paywall).  Aside from a couple of lapses for 1:19 in the 1st and 3rd the Jets looked to keep rolling along this pre-season.

Winnipeg Free Press: Travellin’ man Griffith happy with Winnipeg stop so far. (Paywall).  He has equated himself well so far.

Winnipeg Free Press: Ehlers gets new linemates to go with new focus. (Paywall).  Clearly someone got the memo to shoot more with six on net, ten attempts and two goals last night.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets Snapshots. Includes: 1) Niku shines with pair of goals. 2) Jets defence battle heating up. 3) Brossoit gets 2nd look.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets short snappers Includes: 1) Blunt Ehlers says he needs to keep it simple. 2) Maurice hopes the Dane’s speed can rub off on Roslovic. 3) McKenzie out to prove size doesn’t matter.

Jets video:
