Note:  The day fans have been waiting all summer for has finally arrived as the Winnipeg Jets officially kick off 2018-19 training camp today with on-ice testing starting with Group A at 10 AM and Group B at 12 pm. Tonight the Jets will be revealing their third jersey that will be worn this season.  An image was leaked yesterday that wasn’t exactly awe inducing and it will be interesting to see what they reveal tonight at the season ticket portion of Fan Forum which kicks off at 7:30 pm.

Note II:  Of course the excitement of a new season beginning is tempered by the reality that RFA defenceman Josh Morrissey remains unsigned.  It will be interesting to see if this drags out or ends in the near future as many expect.

Note III:   Tomorrow’s Illegal Curve Hockey Show will be live and on location at Bell MTS IcePlex as we kick off three hours of Winnipeg Jets and NHL hockey talk on TSN Radio 1290.  If you are at the IcePlex tomorrow morning come by and say hello!

Winnipeg Free Press: Internet might have offered sneak peek at new Jets jersey. (Paywall). As I indicated above the reaction from fans was less than enthused.

Winnipeg Sun: Bridge or long-term? That remains the question for Jets D-man Morrissey. Considering the Jets depth (or lack thereof) on the left side it would appear that the Alberta native is in the driver’s seat right now.

Winnipeg Sun: Five things to watch as Jets open training camp. Ken is looking at the following five topics including: 1) Who is no 2? 2) Who replaces Stastny? 3) The Trouba factor. 4) Who is riding shotgun with Byfuglien? 5) Where does Vesalainen fit?

Global News:  Few jobs up for grabs as Jets get set to open up training campA sign of a team that has come of age is the lack of spots for the next wave of players.

Jets audio:
