Note:  It wasn’t an overly busy two days in Dallas as another NHL Entry Draft has concluded.  Just because the Entry Draft has ended and summer is here doesn’t mean that we are on vacation…yet.  In fact we are in the courting period for free agents before July 1st when teams can sign free agents and we are also turning our focus to the Winnipeg Jets prospects who will descend on the city today for the start of Prospect Development Camp.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets’ pick models game after Toews. (Paywall).  It will take some time before we know what the Jets got in this year’s draft.  Mike breaks down the draft for Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Sun: Three pivots, two blue-liners and one goalie chosen on Day 2 of NHL Draft. Ken offers his thoughts on the additions the Jets made.

The Athletic: Jets use success, lack of first round pick, cap crunch as reason to draft for distant future. (Paywall).  A look at what the team got done in Dallas.

(Paywall).  After years of high praise for the Jets drafting they get hit with a C in this assessment.  The reality of course is that despite what is written, both positive and negative, these players will have years before we really know what they might be.
