Winnipeg Free Press:  All quiet for Jets on first day at NHL entry draft.  (Paywall). It wasn’t a big surprise that the Jets stayed quiet on day 1 of the NHL Entry Draft although perhaps the overall lack of trades was a bit unexpected.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets coach couldn’t bear to watch Cup final (and other revelations of a hockey lifer). (Paywall). A candid Jets bench boss who touched on a number of topics in this chat with the media from Dallas.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets look to stock shelves on Day 2.  Six picks as of right now and that could change.  The team will make their first selection at 60th in the 2nd round and there is plenty to get done as they look at adding some missing pieces.

Winnipeg Sun: Hellebuyck didn’t run out of gas. With the uncertainly of the backup position due to health concerns the team likely gave their number one guy a couple more games in the regular season then was ideal. But he certainly didn’t look completely gassed by the end of the playoffs.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets head coach ignored Stanley Cup final. It would have to be tough to watch after the heartbreak of falling short.

CBC: With no first-round pick, Winnipeg Jets are spectators as NHL draft begins. Plenty of other tasks for the Jets GM to focus on sans pick in the opening round of the NHL Entry Draft.

Illegal Curve: Tobias Enstrom is focused on remaining in the NHL next season. Although for the first time in his career that will be without putting on a Thrashers or Jets logo as he tests free agency this summer.
