Note: The Jets and Preds did battle late into the night and when the dust settled the visitors had the scored the 2-1 victory to even the series 2-2. The Jets will practice at 10:45 at Bell MTS Place before heading to Nashville ahead of a massive game 5 on Saturday night. The Jets Playoff Practice Report will bring you up to speed.
Note II: The Moose get loose tonight as they kick off the first 2nd round appearance since relocation from out east and the first AHL one in this city since the Moose 1.0 made the playoffs in their final season in 2010-11. Since they played the final three games of the 1st round in Grand Rapids we haven’t seen this team play in Winnipeg in 12 days. Tonight should be a good clash of two solid teams as the Moose and IceHogs clash for the Central Division title. Puck drop is at 7 pm and we will have complete coverage on site.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Predators pounce on Jets’ scoring chances. I thought Viktor Arvidsson continued his strong play in this series as he set up the Subban goal with a perfect screen of Connor Hellebuyck. It is the third time this season that he had done so.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets back on even terms after first home loss in 14 games. As the guy who goes into the Jets room after games it has been a happy place more often than not over the last few months with all the winning.
Winnipeg Sun: Predators flex defensive muscle. They don’t have one of the best D group for nothing.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets let chance to push Preds to brink slip through their hands. (Paywall). It would have given this Jets squad quite a stranglehold on the series but I think most folks expected this one to go the distance.
Winnipeg Free Press: Lowry focused on preventing goals, not scoring them. (Paywall). Wild to think he hasn’t scored in 2018 (obviously with time missed due to injury). But his role on this team really isn’t one of scoring. Jason has more.
The Tennessean: Preds shut down Jets, even series. Adam covers the Preds and he provides his insight into last night’s game.
The Tennessean: Preds, Rinne put silencer on Jets to even series. I thought Rinne looked solid in last night’s contest for Nashville. Joe breaks down the game from his perspective.
TSN: Jets’ missed opportunity has Preds in driver’s seat for first time. Home ice advantage is back in the hands of Nashville after they earned the split in Winnipeg.
Sportsnet: Predators use structure, savvy to clog up Jets in Game 4. You could see coming into last night’s game the Predators had a game plan and they really ensured they stuck to it.
Sportsnet: P.K. Subban more than just a showman; he’s a playoff producer. I jokingly suggested the Jets should pull a George Costanza in the episode of Seinfeld when he is doing the opposite. Perhaps they should cheer for P.K. Subban cause the booing ain’t working so well.
CBC: Predators prove Presidents’ Trophy prowess by shutting down high-flying Jets. These guys didn’t make it as far as they did last year and accomplish what they have this season by accident.
CBC: Swagger slumps in Winnipeg as Preds end Jets’ home winning streak and take Game 4. Hard to believe that there hadn’t been a loss at Bell MTS Place since the end of February.
CBC: Proposal pulled off at Winnipeg Jets whiteout party. At least one couple’s night ended positively as a result of her accepting his proposal.
The Athletic: After Preds put the clamps down to even series, Jets will need to respond and raise their game again. (Paywall). The Jets captain was pretty clear after the game that this team knows what they need to do in order to take control back of the series.
Jets video:
TSN: Preds’ stingy defending helps them frustrate Jets and even up series. Sara Orlesky, Pierre LeBrun and Frank Seravalli look at how the Predators locked things down defensively and diverted from the run and gun offence that had been seen over the first three games.
TSN: One missed opportunity for Jets could’ve changed the game. Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele were unable to convert on a two-on-one in the second period and less than a minute later P.K. Subban scored the game-winning goal. Dave Poulin explains how this one missed chance could’ve changed the game for Winnipeg.
