Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  I’m not quite sure where last night’s wild 6-5 regulation loss to the Predators ranks in all-time Jets games but it was certainly a wild affair that saw the home side blow two different two goal leads to Nashville.  The Jets have a 12 noon practice scheduled.  Jets Practice Report brings you up to speed.

Note II:  The Moose will have another day of practice today at 10 am at the IcePlex as they prepare to face the Iowa Wild this weekend at Bell MTS Place to finish off their eight-game home stand.

Sportsnet:  31 Thoughts.  Just a couple of Jets related tid bits including 14 (Stastny) and 17 (Jets being in on Rick Nash).  

Winnipeg Sun:  Preds top Jets in marquee match-up.  In the battle of new acquisitions both made an impact but in the end the goal by Ryan Hartman sent his team home with the two points.  Ken breaks it all down.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets blow a late lead to fall 6-5 to pesky Preds.  (Paywall).  If I wasn’t there I may not have believed that the Jets blew a two-goal 3rd period lead but this Nashville team cannot be given an inch.  Mike recaps the game.

Sportsnet:  Jets-Predators has us eager for a playoff series.  That game left folks yearning for a seven-game series although when we chatted with Preds coach Peter Laviolette post-game he was asked about this prospect and replied “that was a pretty exciting game, I can guarantee you I haven’t thought about a match-up.”
