Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Make hay with the power play.  Bryan Little, when asked about the possibility of being bumped off the power play said you always want to be the go to guy but that the team needs to be able to rely on whomever will put the puck in the net.  If this team is looking for firepower, perhaps it is time to see Kane reunited with Wheeler and Little.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Time for top performers to rise up.  While the Jets did fail to score, despite putting 38 shots on net, Evgeni Nabokov did play a pretty good game for the Islanders on Tuesday night.  This team needs scoring to come from all 4 lines and if that is not happening, then we will continue to see these games with poor results for the Jets.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets captain’s signal clear.  No more room for passengers on these Jets.  All the players on this team need to start contributing and playing for a complete 60 minutes.

Winnipeg Sun:  Scary moment for Jets’ Slater.  The beauty of twitter is that we can have Jim Slater share the injury he suffered almost instantaneously.  Of course I’m not going to include the picture on here but you are welcome to click the link (not for those who are squeamish)  to see his cut.  Also some talk about the G and S giving the T in the GST line some love for his recent scoring success.  Ends article with some talk about the Minnesotan  members of the Jets returning to their home state.

Globe and Mail:  Jets fans happy to hit road.  The game has been sold out for months and you can can expect thousands of Jets fans to be at the Xcel Energy Center chanting “Go Jets Go”, perhaps even a “GST” chant and of course “True North” during the Canadian national anthem.  Should be quite the atmosphere down in St. Paul this evening.

Pioneer Press:  Power play labouring.  The Wild are currently sitting 24th in the league in power play percentage (14.9).  Interesting article on the impact that Darryl Sydor is having on this team.

Star-Ledger:  Wild GM plans to talk to other teams about Zidlicky.  Perhaps this talk by the Wild GM (which looks like posturing to try to gain leverage) offsets Tuesday’s talk in the New York Post of the Jets Johnny Oduya being re-acquired by the Devils.
