Note II: After a highly successful road trip (6-1-1-1) the Moose were back in action last night facing the defending Calder champion Griffins. It was a tight affair that the home side lost 1-0 and while they couldn’t generate much offence their goalie gave them a chance to win it, as Jaime Phillips stopped 37 of 38 shots he faced, including a number of grade A chances for Grand Rapids.

The Athletic Winnipeg: It’s time to go all in and that means paying big for necessary upgrades. (Paywall). Murat is suggesting the Jets be bold as this trade deadline approaches. It will be interesting to see the approach taken by Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets coach juggles lines to spark team. (Paywall). One thing this team seems to have is a lot of scoring power spread out so the nice benefit is that if one line isn’t going you can likely get some offence from one of the other lines.
Winnipeg Free Press: Hendricks seeing red over blindside hit to head, but gets green light to play. (Paywall). From up above it seemed clear that Bowey wasn’t pleased with a hit earlier in the shift and that was clearly the way Jets forward Matt Hendricks saw it as well.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets should beef up its lineup before trade deadline. (Paywall). Former NHLer turned scribe Scott Campbell thinks it wouldn’t hurt to make some augmentations to the Jets composition prior to the deadline on the 26th of February.
