Note: The Jets home dominance continued last night with their 4-3 win over the Coyotes in a game that wasn’t the prettiest of wins but improved the home record to 20-3-2 on the season and gives them an overall record of 32-13-9. This makes them 3-0-1 in four games of this ten game home stand. The Jets are scheduled to practice at 12 noon.
Note II: The Moose road points streak continued last night after they dropped a 3-2 shootout game to the Admirals in Milwaukee and are 5-0-0-1 on this nine game road trip. They are now 19-4-1-1 in 25 road games this season and have points in fourteen straight on the road (12-0-1-1). They will be back at it tonight in Grand Rapids with a 6 pm puck drop against the Griffins.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Jets win ugly against Coyotes. Dustin Byfuglien was playing in NHL game 800 and had himself an impactful night for the home side. Ken recaps the contest.
Winnipeg Free Press: Following early demotion, Petan’s patience pays off. (Paywall). In his first NHL action since October 20th he scored a big goal and set up a number of chances for his linemates.
Winnipeg Free Press: Winning ugly against Arizona. (Paywall). It wasn’t a pretty win but the two points go in the standings banks regardless of how it looked. Mike breaks it all down.
The Players Tribune: Winnipeg is Good. Well if Patrik Laine wasn’t already one of the most popular players on the team in this city I suspect this will put him over the top. Couple of things jumped out at me reading this: 1) Love how his assessment of the Jets was based on their NHL rating and 2) His assessment of the people in Winnipeg shows a fairly clear understanding of folks here in Manitoba.
Jets video:
TSN: Banged up Jets rally together to get win. With Jacob Trouba on the shelf with an injury, Jamie McLennan explains how not only did Winnipeg’s defence step up to overcome the loss, but the Jets’ forwards also did their best to help the cause.
Jets 4 Coyotes 3:
Illegal Curve: Post-game report. Head back inside Bell MTS Place for some notable factoids as well as post-game audio from the Jets (Byfuglien, Roslovic, Petan, Kulikov), coach Maurice, Coyotes (Raanta, Stepan) and coach Tocchet.
