Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets make minor trade. As one of our twitter followers lamented, not the Winnipeg/Anaheim trade many Jets fans were waiting for.
Winnipeg Free Press: Nobody said it would be easy. About the only thing in the Jets favour is that every other team they need to catch seems to be having as much trouble as the Jets at putting together a string of wins to gain some ground.
Winnipeg Free Press: A few Jets notes. Health epidemic. Home sweet home. IceCaps setting pace.
Winnipeg Sun: Town not big enough for both of ’em? This surprises me as you would expect the teams in rural Manitoba to be less impacted than those in the city.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets foundation shaken. Bogosian gets it right when he says it is hardly time to panic. The team won 2 of the last 3 and while it was not an ideal final road game, they finished with 8 of 14 points in their last 7 games (6 of those games were on the road). The remain just 4 points back of 8th spot Toronto and 6 back of 7th spot Ottawa. The Jets are going to need a big effort against the Islanders tomorrow night to get them back in the hunt.
Ottawa Citizen: Southleast Division a blight on the NHL. It is a bit odd when you see a team in 3rd place in the Conference with less points than the 4th, 5th and 6th place teams.
Globe and Mail: No surrender as NHL trade deadline nears. It is an interesting situation as almost all of the Eastern teams are still in the playoff hunt and all but Columbus and Edmonton are likely done in the West.

Affiliate news – St. John’s IceCaps:
The Telegram: IceCaps complete sweep of Binghamton Senators with 6-3 win. While the Jets post season remains in flux, they are thinking parade routes in St. John’s. The Caps have turned things around at home, are 9-1 overall in last 10 and are now in first place in the AHL.
Next opponent news – New York Islanders:
Newsday: Islanders lose to Panthers, 4-1 at Coliseum. The Islanders did not do the Jets any favours with Sunday’s loss to Florida.
