Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  Often folks say “TGIF” but this has more meaning today for Jets fans with the team they follow finally being done with their five-day league mandated break.  The Jets are back on the ice today at 11 am before leaving for Calgary to face the Flames in a Saturday afternoon matinee.  Plenty of questions surround the roster with question marks surrounding goalie Steve Mason and forwards Adam Lowry/Brandon Tanev.  Stick to the Winnipeg Jets Practice Report for a full recap of today’s action.  Update:  Jets have recalled goalie Michael Hutchinson and forward Jack Roslovic from the Moose.

Note II:  The Moose are back in business after a week of practice as they face the Texas Stars tonight at Bell MTS Place with puck drop at 7 pm.  As I outlined above the Manitoba roster could be in flux with the above question marks and whether Jack Roslovic/Brendan Lemieux/Michael Hutchinson get recalled and with Mike Sgarbossa suspended for the next two games.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Call it the Central nervous system — Jets division foes are closing fast.  (Paywall).  The Preds leapt past the Jets into 1st in the Central last night but amazingly Nashville has 60 points in the top spot and the Blackhawks are in last but just ten points back.  Gonna be a wild race to the end.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets players meeting expectations in mid-season report card.  (Paywall).  Former NHLer turned scribe Scott Campbell hands out some grades for the Jets.
