Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets continued their strong play yesterday afternoon with a 4-1 win over the visiting San Jose Sharks.  It was the final home game for two weeks as the team heads out on the road today.  The players will chat at 11 am at Bell MTS Place and then will leave this afternoon for Buffalo.

Note II:  The first place Manitoba Moose kick off six straight games at Bell MTS Place which starts tonight against the defending Calder Cup champion Grand Rapids Griffins.  The Moose are scheduled for pre-game skate at Bell MTS IcePlex at 10 am and the game gets underway with a 7 pm puck drop.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Complementary players key win.  Matt Hendricks got things started in the 1st period and the bottom two lines really drove the bus in the win over the Sharks.  Ken recaps the game.

Winnipeg Sun:  Skilled forward Jack Roslovic doesn’t look out of place in season debut with Jets.  As someone who has watched him all season long with the Manitoba Moose I wasn’t surprised that he didn’t look out of place in the Jets lineup.  He has all the tools to be a major contributor for Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets devour Sharks.  (Paywall).  It wasn’t the most spirited game despite some first period fisticuffs.  Mike recaps the game.

Sportsnet:  Jets down Sharks for fifth straight home victory.  We call ourselves friendly Manitobans but Bell MTS Place has been anything but friendly to visiting teams.
