Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets went 1-1-1 on this pre-Christmas holidays road trip including yesterday’s 5-2 loss to the Islanders in Brooklyn.  The team now has some time away for the rink which based on how they looked on Saturday they can use to help recover for the long stretch to the playoffs.

Note II:  The Moose began their holidays on Saturday after they finished off a historic run where they went 16 games without a regulation loss.  The team is off for the next few days before they resume their impressive run to the Calder Cup playoffs.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Maurice shuffles lines, Perreault gets look on top unit.  The good news for the Jets is that with the reduced minutes he had been playing Mathieu Perreault should be fresh if given the chance to play a bigger role with this team.

Winnipeg Sun:  Weary Jets dig early hole, can’t recover in loss to Islanders.  Two goals in 49 seconds sunk the ship.  Ted recaps the contest.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets give up hat trick in loss to Islanders.  (Paywall).  They sometimes talk about emptying the tank before you know you’re gonna get a chance to refill it.  Based on the game yesterday the Jets tank was on empty already.  Mike breaks down the game from Brooklyn.
