Note:  The Jets are gonna want to recycle last night’s 5-1 loss to division rival Chicago as they hit the ice for practice today at 12 noon at the IcePlex.  Following practice they will head to St. Louis for a home and home against the Blues.

Note II:  The Moose are in Belleville where they will kick off three games in three days starting with a game tonight against the Senators farm club.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets come up short in 5-1 loss to resurgent Blackhawks.  (Paywall).  It was ugly.  While the team hadn’t lost in regulation since October 17th last night was a reminder that you cannot rest on your laurels in this league.  The loss also ensured that Jets coach Paul Maurice set the all time record for losses in the NHL by a coach as he passed Al Arbour for first on the list at 578.  Mike breaks down the game.

TSN:  Slow start costs Jets.  Usually stingy at home, the Jets came out flat and were behind 3-0 after the first and as TSN Hockey analyst Jamie McLennan breaks down the Blackhawks’ win and explains how much Winnipeg is missing injured defenceman Dustin Byfuglien.

TSN:  Power shift in the Central division?  For years the Blackhawks reigned supreme in the Central Division, but the Jets find themselves six points ahead of Chicago in the standings heading into tonight’s matchup. Sara Orlesky takes a closer at whether the balance of power has shifted in the division.
