Note:  The Jets had the lead in the 3rd period but lost in OT…twice last night in Denver.  It was a game the Jets could have had two points but one they are probably happy to have salvaged at least one.  The team returns home today and will be back on the ice tomorrow as they get set for a pair of games against Vegas (Friday) and Ottawa (Sunday) here in Winnipeg.

Note II:  The Moose are riding the hottest streak since they arrived back in Manitoba having won seven straight and 11 of their last 12.  They have a four-game home stand which begins tonight when they welcome the Cleveland Monsters.  Puck drops at  7 pm.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets earn single point Hellebuyck not happy with point lost Connor Hellebuyck’s comments were refreshing (and more in keeping what we would hear when he was in the AHL with the Moose) as he realizes that he doesn’t have to be infallible in the NHL.  He can make an error (not like it obviously) and learn from it.  Ken recaps the game.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets get grounded in Mile High City with 3-2 loss to Avs.  (Paywall).  It was a rather disjointed game but this team still manages to find ways to end games with at least a point.  Mike recaps the game from inside the Pepsi Center.

Denver Post: MacKinnon scores again for good measure in OT as the Avalanche rally past red-hot Winnipeg If you’d like to get the view from someone who covers the Avs,  here is a break down of the game.

Mercury News:  Winnipeg could be the right trade partner for the Sharks.  Jets seem to have sufficient depth right now but with a long NHL season it is easy to churn through your players as we saw last season.  With the Jets having just been in San Jose last week it looks like folks there are still thinking about this Jets team.
