Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets will face the Flyers tonight as they hope to continue their strong play in November, which currently has them riding a 4-1-1 streak.  The Jets were off yesterday so we don’t yet know if Mathieu Perreault will return to the lineup.  Stay tuned for the Winnipeg Jets pre-game report which will have all the latest from today’s 10:30 am pre-game skate.  Update:  Looks like 85 is drawing back in and 16 is the guy moving out.  Click here.

Note II:  The Moose are loose as they continue to lead the central division following last night’s 3-2 win over the Wolves.  Update:  Manitoba were scheduled to hit the ice for a 12 noon practice out at the IcePlex as they prepare for a Friday night re-match with these same Wolves but have since changed to off ice workouts.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Five keys to Jets vs. Flyers.  Ken’s big matchup is (shuddering at thought of the twitter battles this topic spawns) Mark Scheifele vs Sean Couturier. His keys to the game include: 1) Keeping it tight (defensively). 2) Secondary scroing continues. 3) Start of a hot streak? 4) Be more disciplined. 5) Nolan Patrick’s potential return.

Winnipeg Sun:  Mason fondly remembers time with Flyers.  It will be interesting to see if coach Maurice allows him to face his former team or if he continues to ride Hellebuyck and then gives Mason the afternoon start against the Devils on Saturday.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Tonight could be the night Mathieu Perreault returns.  (Paywall).  He hasn’t played since October 27th when he suffered that lower-body injury but his addition will be welcome.

Winnipeg Free Press: What the Hellebuyck is going on? Actually, there’s no surprise why Jets are Canada’s best.  (Paywall).  The play of the Jets netminder is clearly the top reason Winnipeg has skyrocketed up the ranks of teams in the NHL.
