Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets are off today following another 4-1 victory over the Coyotes last night.  They will return to the ice on Thursday with a morning skate as they prepare to face the Flyers for the first time this season.

Note II:  The Moose are finally home after what feels like a two week California vacation for the team, one in which they won four games and lost two.  They kick off the first of four contests at Bell MTS Place tonight when they welcome the Chicago Wolves to town with a 7 pm puck drop.  We will have full coverage on site.

Jets news:

Sportsnet:  31 Thoughts.  Jets forward Kyle Connor gets some attention in thoughts 16-18.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets overcome slow start to beat Coyotes.  While the Coyotes have a lot of talent with their farm team down in Tucson they are certainly lacking this element with their current NHL squad.  They just didn’t have much last night.  Ken breaks it down.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Secondary scoring, Helle’s hot hand help Jets beat Coyotes 4-1.  (Paywall).  Lost in the sudden production from a line not containing Connor/Scheifele/Wheeler is that Connor Hellebuyck continued his strong play as he bounced back from his weakest performance of the season in Vegas with this 33 save victory.  Jason breaks it all down.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Hawerchuk takes trip down memory lane as ‘Ducky’ goes into Jets Hall of Fame.  (Paywall).  It was a nice stroll down memory lane for those of us who grew up in the 80’s watching #10 fly around the old Winnipeg Arena.

Sportsnet:  Dale Hawerchuk reflects on perfect fit with Winnipeg Jets.  We spoke about it over the weekend on the IC Hockey Show but he really did embrace the city (in all seasons) and it was more so for this reason in addition to his abilities on the ice that he became so iconic in Winnipeg.
