Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Just thinking out loud…..Handling the 2nd game of back-to-back’s. Curious case of Alexander Burmistrov. Overpaying for talent. Sunshine state thoughts. Which position can the Jets afford to trade away (we here at IC also believe GST is untouchable). Cerebral Bolts coach Guy Boucher. Nasty in Monty. Taxi cab confessions (or a sort).
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets have to get their hands dirty, score the greasy goals. I have been advocating this for quite some time. The Jets are not blessed with a ton of natural talent, but they do have a lot of big bodies that can cause distraction in front of opposition netminders. Problem is far too often the Jets are anywhere but in front of the net and this is leading to easy saves.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets face ‘big test’ against Habs. The big advantage for the Jets is they have had a day off unlike the Habs who lost a tough game to the Capitals 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Winnipeg Sun: Centre hopes to fly high with Jets. The young gun is hungry to take advantage of this opportunity with the Jets and with the recent injuries the time is now for him to take this shot.
CBC: Jets hoping for offensive surge in Montreal. The importance of playing a complete 60 minutes cannot be understated. The Jets absolutely need this win to keep pace in the East.
Illegal Curve: IC Hockey Show part 1. Jets at Panthers recap. Interview with Neil Greenberg of the Washington Post & ESPN. Winnipeg Jets schedule prognostication.
Illegal Curve: IC Hockey Show part 2. Interview with Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette. Trade deadline preview. Los Angeles clock incident. Rapid Fire (joined on phone with Ezra from Montreal). Interview with Jonas Siegel of TSN 1050.
Affiliate news – St. John’s IceCaps:
Worcester Telegram & Gazette: Sharks get rough in win over Caps. A tough loss following yesterday’s big win. Consistency at the Mile One Centre remains an issue for the Jets farm team.
Next opponent news – Montreal Canadiens:
Winnipeg Free Press: Good news Jets, Habs worst in East after shutout loss. The Habs didn’t do Winnipeg any favours losing to the Jets Southeast division rivals yesterday.
Montreal Gazette: Peter Budaj frustrated by ‘unlucky’ break. When you are losing, you just can’t seem to get any breaks.
