Note:  If you missed hearing from Dustin Byfuglien, Adam Lowry and coach Paul Maurice from day 3 of Jets Training Camp we’ve got your covered.

Note II:  However unlike a normal day of training camp today pre season really kicks off with the first of seven games for the Jets as they host their rivals from down south in Minnesota.  The Wild come to town which means the playing group will skate at 10 am (at the IcePlex) with the non-playing group on the ice at 12 pm.  Puck drop is at 7 pm at Bell MTS Place.   As always keep it locked to illegalcurve.com for pre and post game news and be sure to follow us on social media including Twitter | Facebook | InstagramUpdate:  We have the Jets projected lines, D pairs and pre-game audio in our pre-game report.

Jets news:

NHL:  Sgarbossa ready, excited for Jets debutJets insider Jamie Thomas catches up with forward and gives you some insight into the player as he gets ready for his first game with his new club.

CBC: Winnipeg fan sends jersey on 31-city tour to honour buddyA nice gesture to honour a friend’s memory.

Winnipeg Sun: Byfuglien looks for happy medium.  With a healthy six defence, especially of the calibre the Jets can roll out, it will afford them the opportunity to even out the playing time which would have a long term benefit for players like #33.

Winnipeg Sun:  Evaluation period ramping up for Jets.  There are a number of players who will be fighting for a limited number of spots in the Jets bottom six.  Should make for some interesting battles the next week or two.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Byfuglien dishes on upcoming season.  (Paywall).  Plenty from the big man as the Jets get ready for a big season ahead.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Armia wants to revive Jets’ penalty-kill.  (Paywall).  While the greater hope should be a more disciplined team who takes less penalties, having able bodied defenders is a good option for the Jets bench boss.  Jason also wrote about Tucker Poolman and tonight’s game against the Wild.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets gear up for Wild contest.  (Paywall).  Going to be a veteran group for the first pre season game tonight as the Jets host the Wild.
